Keurig B60 Coffee Maker Review

The Keurig B60 gives you the great taste of gourmet coffee, but one cup at a time. Just pop in a K-Cup and you're ready to brew.

Based on thousands of ratings and reviews at Amazon, Bizrate and other comparison shopping sites, the Keurig B60 comes in at #1.

It was voted better than the Senseo coffee pod brewers, and better than that Tassimo one cup brewing system.

Why? Because using a sealed K-Cup in the Keurig B60 for each brew is the simplest, fastest and cleanest way to make one fresh cup of gourmet coffee...whenever you want one.

Here's why the Keurig B60 was voted the best one cup coffee maker.

Single serve brewers just make it easy to brew fresh coffee.
You don’t have to store or grind your beans, or deal with wet and messy coffee grinds after brewing.
As a friend of mine put it...

“I drank instant coffee all my life. I just didn’t have the patience or interest to grind beans and brew a whole carafe of coffee – most of which I wouldn’t drink anyway. So when Keurig came out with its one-cup brewers, I bought one. It’s a great step up from instant, and it’s just as easy.”

Of course, it is a very significant step up from instant coffee.
Most of us couldn’t even tell the difference between a Colombian blend made from fresh-ground beans or from a Keurig K-Cup.
Why Keurig?
There are a number of competing one-cup coffee makers on the market, many offering different versions of the one-cup process.
So what makes Keurig stand out from the crowd? What makes it the best one cup coffee maker?

Keurig has been making one-cup coffee makers for many years. The company started out making machines for offices. But then in late 2003 it launched its first machine to the consumer market.

Interestingly, many industry experts predicted that the idea would never catch on. They said the machines were too expensive and that nobody would buy them. So much for the experts.

But Keurig did more than simply succeed in marketing their brewers. They also developed a one-cup system that delivered the best taste.
The design of their K-Cups seems to do a better job than the competing coffee pods and T-Discs.

And why the Keurig B60 in particular?

The Keurig B60 is a step up from their earlier machines, and offers some good features for coffee lovers.

But before we get into the features of the brewer itself, it’s worth mentioning that the Keurig B60 is the single serve brewer of choice for a man who will probably never own one.

Kenneth Davids is one of the most respected coffee experts in the world. His opinions and reviews are brutally honest, always fair and often quite scathing.

In other words, he won’t put up with any nonsense or say a coffee or coffee maker is good if he doesn’t believe that to be true.

When reviewing single serve coffee makers, he singled out the B60 as a brewer that made coffee that was “agreeably sweet and delicate”. High praise indeed from a man who didn’t even mention any other single-cup brewer by name.

The features of the Keurig B60: As with all the Keurig brewers, you simply fill the water reservoir, pop in a K-Cup and press one button.

A minute or so later, your coffee is ready.
A good feature of this machine is that it offers three different cup size settings, each at the press of a separate button.

Keep in mind that the K-Cups come in just one size. So if you have a small cup of coffee, at 5.25oz, it will be quite a strong brew.

If you have a mug of coffee at 7.25oz, you’ll get a regular strength coffee.

And if you go for the travel mug size, at 9.25 oz, you’ll probably want to use the Extra Bold K-Cups from Green Mountain Coffee.

You can also vary the brewing temperature down five degrees from 192 F. You can adjust it down and see what you think, although most coffee drinkers prefer there coffee at the hottest setting.

One last thing about this brewer: It looks great. With its chrome accents, blue backlit clock and funky lights flashing under the water tank.

In short, this is a much nicer appliance to have on your kitchen counter when compared to the functional but generally boring design of most drip brewers.

Where to buy your Keurig B60: Your best bet is to get it from Green Mountain Coffee. Since they recently purchased Keurig, you can be sure that Green Mountain Coffee will always have a steady supply of machines.

In addition to which, they offer over seventy different K-Cup coffees, including decaf, flavored and organic and fair trade.
